Founder & Executive Director: Jerimie Batac
Jerimie Batac is a nationally certified nurse practitioner who specializes in family practice. She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Virginia in 2010. After graduation, she worked in the medical-surgical ICU as a registered nurse at UVA Health Systems. Though she loved working in acute care, Jerimie was passionate about preventative medicine. With goals of providing holistic healthcare while managing both acute and chronic conditions, she pursued graduate education and earned a family nurse practitioner master’s degree from UVA in 2014.
With her strong background in nursing and education, her current focus as a family nurse practitioner is providing individualized healthcare. She is dedicated to creating a personalized approach for each patient, acknowledging every person is unique and their healthcare should reflect their differences. She strongly believes in educating patients about their illnesses and providing them with the knowledge and tools that allow them to take charge of their lives. In 2016, Jerimie took a life-changing trip serving those in critical need of healthcare in Honduras. She came back with an open mind and humbled heart that wished to continue serving a community in desperate need of healthcare that would fight the rise in chronic illnesses and obesity. Jerimie believed that by spreading her enthusiasm for helping people build a healthy, sustainable lifestyle, she might be able to contribute to improving outcomes for the community, thus My Health Matters, or MHM, was born!
Jerimie wanted her ideology surrounding patient-centered care to transcend into the community and so she founded MHM with the goal of encouraging her community, to establish the healthy, sustainable lifestyle she has inspired her own patients to lead. Together, as a community, MHM can tackle chronic illnesses and obesity through education, wholesome nutrition, and an active lifestyle.
Jerimie continues her commitment to providing medical care both locally and internationally through medical mission trips. She believes that staying active, fostering healthy habits, and finding happiness in the little things each contribute to a good quality of life!
